Environmental Sustainability

In today’s rapidly evolving world, one crucial aspect that demands immediate attention is the environmental impact of industrial operations. Our environmental impact cannot be ignored, that’s the reason why we prioritize sustainable practices and minimize our ecological footprint. By taking proactive steps towards environmental care, we preserve biodiversity, meet regulatory requirements, and contribute to a healthier, more sustainable planet.

Embracing sustainability today will ensure a better life and tomorrow for all.

UQUIFA Group's Strategy

UQUIFA Group is committed to protecting our people and our planet. Our whole team takes sustainability seriously. We are constantly working to reduce our environmental impact and improve the sustainability of our operations. Our goal is to achieve full carbon neutrality.

Pharmaceutical and biotech companies are increasingly prioritising sustainability when looking for an outsourced partner as the world works to protect our planet and improve environmental sustainability.

We are always on the lookout for new ways to reduce our environmental footprint and improve the sustainability of our facilities and processes. From incremental, on-the-spot changes to more substantial, long-term investments, we continue to work towards our goal of becoming completely carbon neutral.

Here are some of the things we are doing to be more sustainable:

Biological treatment plant

Each production site has a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). These are responsible for cleaning the water used in the production and cleaning processes through filtration, decantation, and biological reaction processes, among others.

Bulk nitrogen systems

Most of our nitrogen consumption is covered internally through generation equipment, reducing our external demand for nitrogen. Air from the atmosphere enters the system and is filtered, adsorbed, and gas chromatographed to produce nitrogen with a purity of over 99%.

Atmospheric emission treatment systems

For processes involving volatile organic compounds (VOCs), emission abatement systems are available. A condensation process at -140ºC using the cooling power of cryogenic nitrogen removes the harmful gases from the gaseous wastes.
