Cookies management

Disabled in browsers?

The user can, at any time, allow, block, or delete the cookies installed on his/her device by changing the settings on the browser installed on his/her computer:

(Please note that depending on the version of your browser and/or operating system, the following steps may be different.)

Google Chrome

Delete cookies

Important: If you delete cookies, you may be logged out of sites that remember you and your saved preferences may be deleted. This will apply each time you delete a cookie.

 

Computer:

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More and then Settings Settings.
  3. Click Privacy & Security and then Third Party Cookies.
  4. Click View all data and site permissions and then Delete all data.
  5. To confirm the action, click Delete.

Android:

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, tap More More and then Settings.
  3. Tap Privacy & security and then Clear browsing data.
  4. Choose a time period (for example, Last Time or Forever).
  5. Check the Cookies and site data box and uncheck the other boxes.
  6. Touch Clear data and then Delete.

iPhone or iPad

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome.
  2. Tap More More, then tap Settings.
  3. Tap Privacy & Security, then Clear Browsing Data.
  4. Check the Cookies and site data option.
  5. Uncheck the other options.
  6. Click on Clear browsing data and then Clear browsing data.
  7. Click on Done.

Allow or block third-party cookies

You can allow or block third-party cookies by default.

 

Computer:

Important If you block third-party cookies, all third-party cookies from other sites will be blocked, unless the site is allowed on your exception list.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More and then Settings Settings.
  3. Click Privacy and security and then Third-party cookies.
  4. Select an option:
    1. Allow third party cookies.
    2. Block third-party cookies in Incognito mode.
    3. Block third party cookies.

Android:

Important: If you don’t allow sites to save cookies, they may not work as intended. To manage your own cookies, see more information about site data on your device.

You can allow or block third-party cookies on any site:

  1. On your Android device, open  Chrome.
  2. At the top right, tap More and then Settings.
  3. Tap Site Settings and then Third-Party Cookies.
  4. Select an option:
    1. Allow third party cookies
    2. Block third-party cookies in Incognito
    3. Block third party cookies

Microsoft Edge

In Microsoft Edge , you can delete all cookies or cookies from a specific website. You can also set Edge to automatically delete cookies every time you close your Edge browser. 

Delete all cookies
  1. In Edge, select Settings and more in the upper right corner of your browser window (… icon).

  3. Select Settings > Privacy, search, and services.
  4. Select Choose what to clear under Clear browsing data > Clear browsing data now.
  5. Under Time range, choose a time range from the list.
  6. Select Cookies and other site data, and then select Clear now.
  7. All your cookies and other site data will now be deleted for the time range you selected. This signs you out of most sites.

Delete cookies from a specific site
  1. In Edge, select Settings and more > Settings  > Cookies and site permissions.
  2. Under Cookies and data stored, select Manage and delete cookies and site data > See all cookies and site data and search for the site whose cookies you want to delete.
  3. Select the down arrow to the right of the site whose cookies you want to delete and select Delete .
  4. Cookies for the site you selected are now deleted. Repeat this step for any site whose cookies you want to delete.

Delete cookies every time you close the browser
  1. In Edge, select Settings and more > Settings  > Privacy, search, and services.
  2. Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear every time you close the browser.
  3. Turn on the Cookies and other site data toggle.
  4. Once this feature is turned on, every time you close your Edge browser all cookies and other site data are deleted. This signs you out of most sites.

Mozilla Firefox

Clear cookies for the current website
To delete cookies and site data for a website you’re currently visiting:
  1. Click the padlock at the left of the address bar.
  2. Click Clear Cookies and Site data.

Clear cookies for any website
To delete cookies for any single website:
  1. Click the menu button (the three-bar icon) and select Settings.
  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel and go to the Cookies and Site Data
  3. Click the Manage Data… The Manage Cookies and Site Datadialog will appear.
  4. In the Search websites field, type the name of the site whose cookies you want to remove. Items that match your search will be displayed.
    • To remove all cookies and storage data for the website, click Remove All Shown.
    • To remove selected items, select an entry and click Remove Selected.
  5. Click Save Changes.
  6. In the Removing Cookies and Site Dataconfirmation dialog that opens, click OK.
  7. Close the about:preferences page.

Clear all cookies, site data and cache
  1. Click the menu button (three-bar icon) and select Settings.
  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel and go to the Cookies and Site Data
  3. Click the Clear Data… The Clear Data dialog will appear.
    • Cookies and Site Data (to remove login status and site preferences) and Cached Web Content (to remove stored images, scripts and other cached content) should both be check marked.
  4. Click Clear.

Clear all cookies and keep other data

To delete only cookies while keeping other data, do the following:

  1. Click the menu button (three-bar icon) , click History and then click Clear Recent History….
  2. Set Time range to clear:to Everything.
  3. Select Cookies and make sure that other items you want to keep are not selected.
  4. Click Clear Now to clear all cookies and close the Clear All History window.

Safari

Delete history, cache, and cookies

iPhone, iPad

  1. Go to Settings > Safari.
  2. Tap Clear History and Website Data.
    Clearing your history, cookies, and browsing data from Safari won’t change your AutoFill information.

When there’s no history or website data to clear, the button to clear it turns gray.

MacOs

You can see all the websites that have stored cookies and website data on your Mac, and you can remove some or all of it.

  1. In the Safari app on your Mac, choose Safari > Settings, then click Privacy.
  2. Click Manage Website Data.
  3. Select one or more websites, then click Remove or Remove All.

Removing the data may reduce tracking, but may also log you out of websites or change website behavior.

 

Note: Removing cookies and website data in Safari may change or remove them in other apps.

Clear cookies and cache, but keep your history

iPhone, iPad

  1. Go to Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data.
  2. Tap Remove All Website Data.

When there’s no website data to clear, the button to clear it turns gray. 

 

MacOS

You can see all the websites that have stored cookies and website data on your Mac, and you can remove some or all of it.

  1. In the Safari app on your Mac, choose Safari > Settings, then click Privacy.
  2. Click Manage Website Data.
  3. Select one or more websites, then click Remove or Remove All.

Removing the data may reduce tracking, but may also log you out of websites or change website behavior.

Block cookies

Important: If you block cookies, some web pages might not work. Here are some examples:

  • You will likely not be able to sign in to a site even when using your correct username and password.
  • You might see a message that cookies are required or that your browser’s cookies are off.
  • Some features on a site might not work.

iPhone, iPad

To block cookies:

  1. Go to Settings > Safari > Advanced.
  2. Turn on Block All Cookies.

MacOS

  1. In the Safari app on your Mac, choose Safari > Preferences, click Privacy, then do any of the following:

    • Prevent trackers from using cookies and website data to track you: Select “Prevent cross-site tracking.”

      Cookies and website data are deleted unless you visit and interact with the trackers’ websites.

    • See which websites store cookies or data: Click Manage Website Data.

    • Remove stored cookies and data: Click Manage Website Data, select one or more websites, then click Remove or Remove All.

      Removing the data may reduce tracking, but may also log you out of websites or change website behavior.

  2. Choose Safari > Preferences, click Advanced, then do any of the following:

    • Always block cookies: Select “Block all cookies.”

      Websites, third parties, and advertisers can’t store cookies and other data on your Mac. This may prevent some websites from working properly.

    • Always allow cookies: Deselect “Block all cookies.”

      Websites, third parties, and advertisers can store cookies and other data on your Mac.
