Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness at UQUIFA

UQUIFA Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness reflects our commitment to understanding this condition and supporting patients, families and caregivers. We stand with patients, families, and caregivers who face its daily impact.

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia, accounting for 60–70% of cases worldwide (World Health Organization, WHO). Today, more than 55 million people live with dementia, and nearly 10 million new cases appear every year (WHO, 2023). Therefore, Alzheimer’s disease awareness remains one of the greatest healthcare priorities for our time.

The condition affects not only individuals but also families, caregivers, and healthcare systems. According to Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI), dementia generates an annual economic cost of more than USD 1.3 trillion. Moreover, this figure will continue to rise as populations age, which highlights the urgent need for research, innovation, and collaboration in the pharmaceutical industry.

As a partner in the pharmaceutical value chain, UQUIFA plays an active role in developing innovative medicines that improve patients’ lives. By supplying active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates, we contribute to therapies that support millions worldwide. In addition, our work on sustainability reflects our responsibility to future generations (see our Social Sustainability microsite).

We also believe progress depends on teamwork. For this reason, we support initiatives that encourage neuroscience research and cross-industry collaboration. Working together is the best way to face health challenges like Alzheimer’s disease.

At UQUIFA, we combine scientific expertise, social responsibility, and solidarity. As a result, our commitment to Alzheimer’s disease awareness strengthens our role in the pharmaceutical industry. By joining forces with partners, institutions, and the global community, we move closer to effective treatments that bring hope to patients and caregivers.

Together, through science, innovation, and responsibility, we can make a meaningful difference.
